Some Sundays just call for ice cream — and this one makes it official. July 19 is National Ice Cream Day, and Market in the Valley is celebrating with free scoops, two live bands, and market tables at their midsummer best.
Join us this Sunday, July 19, 9:00 AM–1:00 PM at 7800 Golden Valley Rd, under the Water Tower.

The Golden Valley Community Foundation will be at the market scooping free ice cream for market guests. The Foundation supports programs and projects that make Golden Valley a better place to live — so stop by, enjoy a scoop, and say thank you to some of the people working behind the scenes for our community all year long.
What's at the Market Right Now
Fresh Produce. No one loves this heat, but the tomatoes and sweet corn beg to differ. Mid-July is when the market really hits its stride — expect a growing variety of peak-season vegetables, fresh-cut flowers, and herbs from our growers. The selection changes week to week, so come early for the best of it.
Baked Goods. Fresh loaves, pastries, and gluten-free treats from our bakers make an easy pairing with whatever the growers' tables offer — and an even easier pairing with ice cream.
Meat, Dairy & Pantry. Stock the fridge for the week with local meats and cheeses, then finish the basket with local honey, pickles, and preserves that capture the season at its peak.
Specialty & Treats. Chocolate, coffee, cold beverages, and globally inspired snacks — the sweet-tooth corner of the market is in full swing this week, fittingly.
Ready to Eat & Food Trucks. Come hungry: crepes, bistro fare, Mediterranean dishes, and fresh coffee are all ready to enjoy on the spot while the music plays.

A Full Morning, Start to Finish
The music doesn't stop this week — Kirk & Low open the market at 9:00, and Steve West & the Northern Stars carry it home from 11:00 to 1:00.
In between, there's plenty to do:
- Free yoga at 9:30 AM — bring a mat and start your Sunday slow
- Kickboxing demo at 11:00 AM — for those who prefer their Sunday less slow
- Golden Valley Puppet Wagon — a market favorite for the kids
- Community tables from local nonprofits, including the Master Gardeners — bring your midsummer garden questions
